At the heart of Comvita is a profound respect for our natural environment. It’s always been this way, since 1974
Our sustainability initiatives reflect our ambition to leave the world in a better place. We stand as kaitiaki (guardians) for bees – and to date have rescued over 60 million bees. To help restore balance to ecosystems, we’ve planted over 7 million native trees throughout New Zealand. To make a positive impact on people throughout the world, we engage in many community outreach programs. In 2023, we achieved B Corporation certification, meaning we meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability all to use business as a force for good.
“Our vision has always been to build a business that would help people to live well naturally.”
- Alan Bougen, Co-Founder

Restoring Balance
Healing, protecting and restoring natural ecosystems. We’re improving biodiversity by aiming to plant a tree for every pot of Mānuka Honey sold and supporting various wildlife conservation and biodiversity initiatives.

Kaitiaki (Guardians) for bees since 1974
Acting as guardians for bee populations around the world, aspiring to save 30 million bees a year. We’re at the forefront of bee welfare ethical standards and establishing enduring partnerships to rescue bees and enhance their welfare.
