World Bee Day Is May 20. Here’s How Comvita Is Celebrating All Month Long.

Every spring, bees get to work helping flowers bloom, gardens grow, and ecosystems thrive. And on May 20, the world comes together to celebrate them during World Bee Day.

At Comvita, bees are at the heart of everything we do. For more than 50 years, our beekeepers in New Zealand have been caring for bees and the habitats they depend on. From remote Mānuka forests to flowering landscapes that support pollinators year-round, we’ve seen firsthand how connected healthy ecosystems are to the future of bees, our food systems, and the planet around us.

That’s why, after several years of celebrating World Bee Day, we’re expanding our efforts to a month-long World Bee Month campaign centered around one simple idea:

Where Flowers Grow, Bees Thrive

Throughout May and June, we’ll be sharing ways to support pollinators through education, bee-friendly gardening, community partnerships, and simple everyday actions that can make a meaningful impact.

Because protecting bees starts with protecting the habitats they depend on.

Why Pollinators Matter

Pollinators do far more than help flowers bloom. Bees and other pollinators support many of the foods we rely on every day, helping pollinate more than one-third of the food consumed globally.

From blueberries and strawberries to nuts, seeds, and vegetables, pollinators play a critical role in healthy ecosystems and food systems. But pollinators also rely on healthy habitats to survive. Flowers provide bees with food and nourishment, while diverse environments help support strong, thriving pollinator populations year-round.

Even small actions, like planting flowers in your backyard, adding pollinator-friendly plants to your garden or windowsill, or learning more about bee habitats, can help support pollinators in meaningful ways.

A Partnership Focused on Pollinator Education

For 2026, Comvita is proud to team up with Pollinator Partnership, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting pollinators through conservation, education, research, and habitat restoration.

Our goal is to raise awareness and inspire simple, practical steps that anyone can take to support bee-friendly habitats.
